Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

August 9, 2006

It never ceases to amaze me how, when the Middle East is embroiled in war, no one wants to look to the One Source that contains more predictive information about that region than any other; Namely, the Bible.

Presently, we have the Ishmaelite Lebanese, the Hezbullies (Ishmaelite puppets of the Persians), the Ishmaelite Jordanian rejects (AKA Palestinians), and the Israelis engaged in a struggle that has destabilized the region since Abraham’s day.

Notice the common thread? Ishmaelites. We read in Genesis 25:

12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’ son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’ handmaid, bare unto Abraham:
13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:
16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.

What makes these Ishmaelites so antagonistic? Well, In Genesis 16 we read:

8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai’ maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai.
9 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.
10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.
11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.
12 And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man’ hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

That declaration by God is the reason all the Ishmaelites (Arabs) are so hard to get along with, and why they can’t manage to get along even with each other (except when it comes to their mutual and satanic-inspired hatred of the sons of Israel).

It also has to do with their association with Esau. We read in Genesis 28:

9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham’ son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

Esau was the father of the Edomites.

Gen 25:30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage ; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

Esau’s brother Jacob tricked Esau out of his birthright and blessing. Issac’s love for Esau couldn’t undo Jacob’s trickery.

Gen 27:39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above;
Gen 27:40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
Gen 27:41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

The sons of Esau have perpetuated that hatred ever since.

Now, we have to consider Satan’s answer to Christianity: Islam. What was very bad has, thanks to the introduction of Islam into the mix, become much, much worse.

Will the U.N., Washington D.C., Paris, London, or Brussels be able to solve this situation? Absolutely not. There will never be peace in the Middle East until the Prince of Peace comes again and sets up His Kingdom in Jerusalem, as the Prophets have foretold.

Our reaction, as members of the Church of God? Psalms 122 has the answer:

4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.
5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8 For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

There’s nothing left to say on the issue but: Amen!
