Nineveh, That Great City

It has been quite a long time since I sat down and posted an update to this blog. It’s not that I’ve lost interest in it; it’s just that every time I think I’ve come across something worth “blogging” about, something else happens to make my thoughts seem completely irrelevant (Some of you may think that everything I’ve ever written here is “irrelevant”, but that’s another discussion altogether).

Now that the election is over and things have stabilized on the political front (sort of), I want to say something to those folks who thought I was loopy for suggesting that they not get involved in partisan politics: I stand by my remarks.

Take a look around at the fruit of that cesspool. We’ve seen, for all intents and purposes, the first installation of a king by the media and the Progressives: Barak I: Absolute Sovereign of all he surveys. It doesn’t matter what he calls himself; what matters is what he does, and what he’s been doing should be disturbing more of you than it seems to be.

So now, it’s fair to say, I think, that we are now living in an Obamanation, complete with a framework of Progressive, Marxist, and Communist czars, so called, who wield, (or soon will), absolute authority, to one extent or another, over virtually all aspects of the life of each and every citizen of this once great nation; as soon as they get that pesky Representative Constitutional Republic of We the People out of the way. This political philosophy of theirs is one that hasn’t been seen in power on these shores since names like Teddy, Woodrow, Herbert, and Franklin were recorded as occupying the White House. A sort of fascism that the likes of Mussolini and Hitler admired, and in many cases imitated, is once again rearing it’s ugly head. People are being conditioned to worship the State and it seems to be working. One can’t believe some of the things being said about people who have the gall and audacity to speak out against the king and his plans for us. Things like Cap-and-Trade, the “Stimulus”, and Cash-for-Clunkers? His sucking up to the Trade Unionists with some things called Card Check and Fast Track. And then, his coup de grace, Universal Health care! All of this stuff is designed to “break” our current system of government, so the king and his ministers can step in and assume totalitarian control. Think about it. It starts with money (doesn’t it always?)

What is the heart of the Lord on matters such as these? Here’s what comes to my mind:

Deuteronomy 25:13-16 “Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small. Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small. But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the Lord thy God.”

Why this? You ask. Because all the king’s plans come at great expense. One of our nation’s great abominations is the central bank, the Federal Reserve. This bunch of private, international bankers control the value and amount of our money, thanks to Woodrow Wilson. Our national debt, to the Federal Reserve, is unbelievable and, as if that isn’t bad enough, the Federal Reserve is in the process of “monetizing” that debt by printing a ton of currency and selling notes to places like Red China. That’s where all the money will come from to pay for all these entitlements and programs proposed by the king and his henchmen. That will start the process of hyperinflation that will shortly completely collapse the economy of this nation, just like it did to Germany’s Weimar Republic. Our creditors will all call in their notes and, guess what Folks, our country and the “collateral” (that’s us, Folks), used to secure the loans will become the property of the foreign nations the Federal Reserve sold the notes to.

In other words, a dollar should always be worth X-amount of gold or silver. It’s value should not be subject to the whims of international bankers! That’s a diverse set of weights and measures, and it’s an abomination to the Lord.

And, that’s only the money issue. What about your liberty? The liberty to speak out against the government when you believe it to be wrong, without fear of the 3-A.M., knock at the door, or of one day being “disappeared” for saying the wrong thing around the wrong people. That’s at stake too, you know. Consider the so-called “diversity” czar, recently installed at the FCC. He’ll turn all forms of broadcast media into propaganda outlets for the regime. No dissenting voices anymore. There’s another one of these czars that will bring “balance” to the Internet. That means I’ll be gone, along with a lot of other “difficult” people; People who encourage you to obey God instead of Man are included.

Does any of this make Barak I, the anti-Christ? No. It does, however, put him in a position where he can be the person responsible for reducing the international stature, power, and influence of this country to complete irrelevancy.

Back in the late 60’s and 70’s, the “End Times” crowd speculated that the reason the United States wasn’t in Bible prophecy had to do with the fact that there were so many Christians here that, after the Rapture, there would be such a power vacuum at all levels of government that the country would just collapse upon itself and end up becoming sort of a vassal-state to the Europeans and their Union, headed up, of course, by, the Beast of Revelation.

Did anyone back then, even in their wildest dreams, contemplate that the number of true, Bible-believing Christians would come to be so small, that their vanishing might go unnoticed or even welcomed? Would anyone have entertained the possibility that the government might deliberately submit itself to European rule?

I’m starting to consider that possibility.

We know that the numbers of true Believers are shrinking, while those in the “profession” camp continue to increase. You know who they are. They attend “services” in converted football stadiums, old supermarket buildings, assorted cathedrals and temples. They rave about their high “self-esteem” and say nothing about their sin. They measure God’s blessing by their success in business and the accumulation of wealth and possessions, not by humility and sacrifice. They support the hierarchical structure of leadership hirelings with money they really can’t afford to part company with, so that these men will continue their pretended “exposition” of what the Bible means; That is, when these hirelings are not too busy traveling all over the globe spreading your money around foreign lands.

Folks, the Bible is God speaking to us. God does not need to be explained to sinful creatures like us, by other sinful creatures. Man, should be listening to Him, believing Him, and living his life in such a way that all those lives testify to the truth of His Words.

Professors of Christianity need to examine themselves. They need to discover just what it is that they profess to believe. You professors need to hear from God. Not from the writers of commentaries, who say they are commenting upon God’s Word, when, if the truth be told, what they are really commenting upon is the Bible, viewed through the smoky glass of their Tradition, that has been passed down to them by those who received it from other commentators in the past who did the very same thing they are now doing!

Had these professors heard from and believed God, they would be expecting the treasonous happenings going on in Washington, D.C., (and in the states as well), as just one more piece of the puzzle that is the real “End Times” the Bible makes many references to.

And yes, the End Times is just one piece of the Great Puzzle that is “… the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will” Ephesians 1:11. When it’s added to all the other pieces out there, it makes for a pretty convincing picture that shows we really are headed for the culmination of the reign of Mankind, the ending of this Dispensation of Grace, and the start of the Dispensation of God’s Judgement.

You know, there are some really great people out there who are trying to get the rest of the people to awaken from their sleep. They weep, because their hearts are in the right place; for, not only the future of the nation, but what that future holds for their children. We should pray for them; for their safety and that their eyes might be opened to the Gospel of the Grace of God. That Salvation is to be found in Jesus Christ, and Him alone. It’s not found in some church organization, the Pope, the Law, or in the plagiarized tripe of some 19th century perverted nutcase from western New York.

There’s someone else we should pray for. Barak Obama. Like it or not, he’s in charge. And of such God has said: “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1.

After all the protests; after all the Tea Parties; after all the blogging and TV-commentary, the only force that can save this nation, founded “… under God,” is God Himself.

Are we, as a nation, not unlike Nineveh? “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.” Jonah 1:2

“… Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?” Jonah 3: 4-9.

“And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?” Jonah 4:11.

As for me, I believe absolutely that God can change the current direction this country is on. What I question is would the people of this nation; would they do as the Ninevehites? Would they humble themselves and pray and repent of their Sin? Would they even consider hearing what God has said? I can’t answer that one. All I can do is pray for them and repeat the words of God, as spoken through Jonah: “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.”
