Christlam? Say What!?!

May 16, 2011

“Say What?!?”

Yeah, that’s what I said the first time I came across that expression. That’s what we’re going to look at in this entry.

So, before I go on any further, let me say this first. I believe that Islam, the religion of the Mohammedans, is Satan’s ANSWER TO Christianity, not something to be merged with it. The professors who have perpetrated this obscene and foolish attempt to corrupt what God has said with the doctrines of devils shall drink from bitter waters, not only in this life, but in the Judgment to come. The God of the Bible is not the god the Mohammedans worship! The Prophet Jesus of the Mohammedans is not the Only Begotten Son of the Living God and very God Himself! You CINOS (Christians In Name Only), who preach and teach that they are the same have deliberately violated the First Commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Ex. 20:3). Do you really think you’ll get away with this blasphemy? God will judge you and you’ll be found wanting.

1 Tim. 4:1 says: “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”

Welcome to the “latter times”.

Luke 18:8 states in part: “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”

The Lord was encouraging his listeners to pray about everything. The implication in the context here is that people were trusting too much in themselves (in their self-righteousness), to take the time to pray concerning any given situation. That phrase “when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth”, I think speaks loudly and clearly to the modern, Western church.

Leaders of the modern church seem to be either so preoccupied with fleecing the sheep that they cannot recognize the evil that has infiltrated their numbers; or, they are more concerned with getting a good Republican elected as President (things of this world), that they just have no time for the things of God.

Had the professing church actually heard what God has said and believed what He had said, they would have the indwelling Holy Spirit raising red flags left and right whenever the subject of ecumenicism comes up; Especially when the subject of said ecumenicism are Mohammedans.

Jesus Himself taught, as recorded in Matthew 7:15-20, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

It appears that today’s modern church member now looks to Wall Street, military might, politicians and their political schemes for their salvation, instead of to the One who shed His blood for their sake. Having the good life, in this life, is what counts to these. And is it any wonder? The gospel of prosperity they preach can save no one at all. The gospel of compromise with the world may increase their numbers but all they end up doing is making their converts twice the disciples of hell that they themselves are. Jesus said it so much better in Matthew 25:15, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.”

Christians who are prayerfully and doctrinally lazy all run the risk of being deceived by the modern-day false prophets who sing the pretty, popular songs on stage, speak from behind pulpits and sit next to them in pews on Saturdays and Sundays.

It’s time that all who name the claim of Christ stop listening to these lies and the mouths from which they spew. It’s time to stop reading books ABOUT the Bible. Time to put down the commentaries; Open the Bible and learn from God Himself, without the interference of Man’s sordid opinions and his corrupt imaginations. There is still time to turn from the path that leads to destruction. The time is short. Chose wisely and chose quickly.

“But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.” (Deut. 4:29-31)

Harold Camping’s At It Again

December 5, 2010

Yes, you read that right. More of Camping’s May 21, 2011 Rapture date-setting nonsense has appeared. I wrote about this earlier in the year when it was reported that a woman had paid to have Camping’s message placed on a bunch of bus benches in Denver, Colorado, if memory serves me.

Well this time, Camping’s convinced another woman, in Detroit this time, to pay to have these billboards erected in, not only Detroit but, eight other cities. Get this, apparently Camping believes that by lying about what the Bible says, he will convince the world that the Bible is the infallible Word of God! The extent of Camping’s lie will be revealed in just about six-months. Stay tuned and pray that his followers wake-up to the Truth and listen to what God has said, after their false prophet has been revealed to be the colossal fraud that he is.

I would that I could just ignore the Harold Campings of the world, but, as long as they are able to deceive people into supporting their nonsense, I have to say something.

Harold Camping is, as most informed Believers know, the brains behind "Family Radio," a shortwave outlet based in United States. His "ministry" serves as an outlet for some of the worse examples of professing Christianity and psudo-Christian cults one can find, such as the Aryan Nations-like "Identity Christianity" movement. Most of these people would rather drink the Kool-Aid than believe God loves anyone other than blond-haired, blue-eyed North Americans. Anyhow, that’s a subject best left for some other time.

In an article on the Detroit Free Press web site, "", the writer, one Niraj Warikoo, who clearly knows nothing about what the Bible has to say concerning the Rapture, tried to make some sense out of Camping’s message with what other people have said the Bible says. Of course, it sounds like the rantings of a lunatic, and of course, the writer attempts to tie sane Christians to it by referring to the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion and Public Life, which reports that four out of five Christians believe that Jesus will come back. Too bad Pew didn’t bother to mention that only idiots set dates for the Event because, you see, the Bible is pretty clear that no man knows when Jesus will return: Only God the Father knows, and he isn’t telling anybody, especially Harold Camping. Matthew 24:36 reads: "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." Now, that quotation does not refer explicitly to the Rapture. It is a reference to the Second Coming; the date of which cannot be calculated until the Great Tribulation begins. Since the Great Tribulation does not begin until after the Rapture has taken place, the timing of the Rapture cannot be calculated either.

They also failed to mention that another date-setter, Edgar C. Whisenant produced a little pamphlet back in 1988, (the same year Camping says the Great Tribulation began,) entitled "88 REASONS Why The Rapture Will Be In 1988", with a subtitle of "The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh-Hash-Ana) September 11-12-13." Flipping the booklet over reveals a second booklet which contains Whisenant’s "proof" that his interpretation is "sound." Did World War III start on October 3, 1988, with a Syrian attack upon Israel? Don’t worry. You didn’t miss anything. It never happened. Another false prophet is unmasked.

Well, as you may have already determined, the Rapture didn’t happen in 1988 and neither did the Great Tribulation begin then, either. Can you guess who hasn’t written any subsequent books on the End Times?

Now, I know that my regular readers know that I have little patience for people like Camping and Whisenant. They misrepresent the Church and, more importantly, they misrepresent God before Mankind. They sew seeds of confusion in the hearts and minds of people who have not yet learned to avoid these date-setters. God knows, I spent quite a few years, when I was just a young Christian, in a state of terrible confusion, thanks, in part, to people like them. Thankfully, God was holding on tightly to me because I was ready to walk away from what seemed to be to be a bunch of greedy-for-gain, dysfunctional, control-freaks.

Remember that the Lord Jesus said that in the last days there would be false prophets all over the place. So as the Apostles reminded their readers, I am reminding whoever might read this post. Harold Camping is a false prophet, just as Edgar C. Whisenant was. DO NOT take anything they say seriously.

The freep reporter interviewed a Rev. Ed Rowe of the Central United Methodist Church. The "Rev" is reported to have said if "Jesus is coming, that’s cool," in addition to commenting that Christians should act out the message of Jesus, whatever that means. I suspect the "Rev" is a progressive advocate of the social gospel, which is more about politics than anything else. His comment about keeping "… people in their homes," has him standing alongside that ACORN crowd, which is very far from where the Lord Jesus would be standing. The "Rev" should read Matthew 18:6 again. "But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." I would remind the "Rev" that the Word also councils him to examine himself to see if he’s still in the faith. (II Corinthians 13:5)

In spite of these lunatics, we should care about the Second Coming. The Apostle John tells us in his first general Epistle that "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." (I John 3:2-3.)

Likewise, the Apostle Peter writes in II Peter 3:13-14: "Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless."

Nowhere are we instructed to be more concerned about the things of this world than we are about watching for the Lord’s return. The "Rev" has it wrong, which shouldn’t come as all that big a surprise. He has his own traditions (Matt. 15:3) that he believes are as authoritative as the Word of God itself. that, in spite of the fact that they contradict and substitute themselves for that very same Word.

So in the meantime, what’s a Christian to do? Do that which God has given us to do while we wait patiently on Him. God has His plan and it operates according to His timing. Creation will be fully redeemed and Sin completely expelled. I believe it will happen soon. That’s where my new home will be. I have His promise. That’s where my hope lies. I pray you will obtain from God that same hope, confidence and peace that He gave me. It won’t be long now.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." II Peter 3:10-16.

So, What Is It Already?

December 2, 2010

It seems that drivers somewhere in New York City are getting an eyeful thanks to a group called the "American Atheists." American Atheists Billboard

Now, I listened to Fox News interview the president of the American Atheists and part of his argument actually held water. Adherents to the religion of Christendom have no one to blame but themselves for attacks like that. In effect, what this fellow said was that Christianity was not the only religion that had tried hanging the birthday of their god on the winter solstice. Had Christendom not done just that, the atheists would have to look elsewhere for many of  their arguments. So, what’s wrong with Christmas and the birth of the Lord Jesus? Our lord wasn’t born then, that’s all. The association between the two came about basically, as a political expediency (trying to please everyone), for the Roman Emperor Constantine’s government, which had recently made Christianity legitimate. Those events of history are well known. Alexander Hislop’s: "The Two Babylons" and Dave Hunt’s: "A Woman Rides the Beast" combine much of the history surrounding the so-called "Holy Roman Empire" and the merger and integration of pagan religions with the early organized Christianity which later became what we call Christendom, into a readable form. To learn the season of the Lord’s birth, however, we have to go to the Scriptures. They are our final authority. If "facts" don’t fit the Scriptural record, either we are not rightly dividing the Word of truth, or our understanding of the "facts" is deficient. In Luke, Chapter 1 we read of the events leading up to Jesus’ birth. In verse 5, we learn about a priest named Zacharias. Now this priest was part of the course of Abia(Gk) or Abijah(Heb). Now, what is a "course" and what is "Abia"? How do they relate to figuring out when Jesus was born. In I Chronicles, Chapter 28, Verses 11-13 and 19, we learn that the courses of priests were given initially to King David, as part of a larger instruction concerning the Temple, who passed them down to his son, Solomon. The organization of the Temple was quite complex and very detailed. Following are some of the divisions of service described in the Bible: Priests (1 Chronicles 24:1-19) Priests’ Assistants (1 Chronicles 23:4,28) Singers (1 Chronicles 25:7-31) Musicians (1 Chronicles 23:5) Gatekeepers (1 Chronicles 26:1-19) Keepers of the Treasure (1 Chronicles 26:20-28) Officers and Judges (1 Chronicles 26:29-32). The priests and the Levites were divided into 24 courses within their assigned class. Each course lasted 7 days (1 Chronicles 9:25). The service began and ended on the Sabbath (2 Chronicles 23:8). In addition, all the priests served for 3 extra weeks during the year (Deuteronomy 16:16). We’re not going to get into all the details here because I want you to look up this stuff yourself. That way, you’ll own your results and you’ll be better able to share them with those you come into contact with. Back to the Bible, we read in the account according to Luke, where we learn what Zacharias was doing and when he was doing it. This is why we need to understand the history of the Temple and how it worked. It contains the foundation of historical information we need to determine the season of the Advent. I say the "season" because I do not believe we can ever really nail down the exact date. As we move further away in history from any event, our accuracy is diminished because memories fade, records are lost, corrupted, and destroyed. That too, is part of Sin. Not being one to reinvent the wheel, there is a web site you can look at that lays this information out pretty clearly. " ." Having studied the historical information, (You did study it. Right?), comprehending the material at the above web site should be a breeze. Okay. Now, we should be able to understand that our Lord and Savior was really born sometime between late September and early October, not at the end of December. What does occur in late December is the Winter Solstice which has been a time of celebration for pagans, (people who worship nature and things associated with the natural world), since time immemorial. Hislop and Hunt explain in an understandable way, why early Christianity was joined to paganism, albeit kicking and screaming, by the religious and political leaders of the day, to eventually become the religion of Christendom, with Jesus being born on December 25th. The religion of Christendom is intellectually dishonest and that fact was the major reason I separated myself from it. Tell me, ignoring the evidence, that red is black, for example, and I’ll assume you’re either blind or a deceiver, and walk rapidly away from you, whatever your rap happens to be. Organized religion is like that. Unfortunately, people, like the atheist group, see this and assume that all Christians are nothing more than a pack of idiots because they ignore the evidence of their own eyes and, in this case, the evidence presented by their own Scriptures! Is it any wonder we can’t sit and talk with them around the same table concerning, for example, origins? The Holy Scriptures, rightly divided, do not stand in opposition to reason and common sense, even though they do record the miraculous. Those of us who rightly divide the Word need to rise above this Christmas controversy and promote an understanding of the truth. While we may never see the American Atheists change their billboard, we will see many of those who follow their philosophy soften their tone and even some will take time to listen to what God has said and be saved by receiving that knowledge. After all, we don’t want to take anything away from those pagans and atheists; We would, rather, have them walk away of their own free will, having found something better. Some of the supplemental historical information for preparing this article comes from the book: "The Temple – Its Ministry and Services" by Alfred Edersheim. The book is a fascinating, accurate, look back in time to when our Lord and Savior walked the environs of Jerusalem and Israel. The book is available at: " ." In closing this session, let me remind my readers that Christmas is not a significant day, theologically, in Biblical Christianity. The Apostle Paul wrote: "Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable." I Corinthians 15:12-19. It is Resurrection Day that should be celebrated by us. Notice I said Resurrection Day, not Easter. The latter is yet another day, like Christmas, that is the result of melding Christianity and paganism together; and just as the Scripture confirms, all you get by mixing something that is holy with something corrupt is more corruption. See Haggai 2:11-14. Yes, there are difficulties associated with when and how to observe Resurrection Day. Most of those are creations of Christendom itself, in a continuing effort to preserve its power and wealth. Perhaps we will examine that controversy later. =-=-=-=-= Powered by Bilbo Blogger

What Sort of Thanksgiving Do You Observe?

November 29, 2010

Yes, it’s that time of year again and, just as I did last year, and the year before, I wondered, as I listened to other people around me discussing the holiday, just how many different ways Thanksgiving was being observed. I came to the conclusion that there are essentially three, if you omit the atheists and other people who avoid holidays altogether.

The first group considers Thanksgiving as that one time during the year where family and friends come together, eat like pigs, watch football, and fall asleep on the couch. The name has been unofficially changed, for these folks, to “Turkey Day”; a perfect designation for their egocentric celebration. Why they make such a big deal over it is beyond me. It’s not as though Thanksgiving is different from any other Sunday they experience, even though Thanksgiving is always on Thursday. Maybe, for them, it’s like two football Sundays in the same week, or perhaps it has to do with it being, for many of them, the first day in a four-day weekend, and hence the special observance. I think it’s just another excuse these folks to engage in even more self-indulgent activities.

Next we’ll consider the second group. For them, Thanksgiving represents a peak of a crescendo in a materialistic musical holiday celebration, which began the day after Halloween and ends the day after the New Year. Another way of looking at it is that Thanksgiving, for them, is just another point on their gantt chart of holiday season goals, which culminate with shopping for deals on the second day of the New Year. This is the group for whom the acquisition of stuff is all important. Thankfulness, like charity, is about as far from them as it could be.

Now, we come to the third group. This group, of which I believe I could consider myself to be a part of, looks at Thanksgiving first, as a reminder to always Give Thanks to the One from whom all good things come, and secondly, as a time for giving out of our abundance, to those who are in need. This isn’t always money, because money can’t fulfill all the needs one encounters in those we meet.

Sometimes, all that’s need is a kind word and a smile. Often, spending time with a lonely, ill or elderly person and offering an attentive and sympathetic ear does the trick. Fix something that’s broken for someone else, without expecting anything in return. Share a meal with someone. Volunteer in a soup kitchen. I could go on but I think you get the idea. We all have natural, as well as spiritual gifts which God has given us to use in His service. The beauty of this kind of Thanksgiving holy day (the expression from which “holiday” is derived) is that it is celebrated each and every time we use one of our gifts to help someone else, but especially when we help those who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10).

I want to encourage all of you who are members of the One Body (I cannot speak to the professors and non-believers), to remember that Thanksgiving needs to be celebrated by us, each and every day of the year. You see, God has given us many things to do while we await His culminating act of redemption. All of humanity is struggling under the burden of Sin. God desires us to use the gifts He gave to us in the service of meeting the needs of others. Peradventure, through those acts of service, the light of God’s love for Mankind might be clearly seen by those whose lives we touch. Then that they would hear what God has said to all of us and receive the Gospel that truly saves.

Personally, I believe that we, who rightly divide the Word of Truth, gathering as the Church in the home, are best suited to present God’s Gospel of redemption to this lost and dying world. Ever increasing numbers of people are becoming ever so jaded towards the institutionalized churches since the recent exposure of all manner of corruption, sexual perversion and hypocritical & contradictory doctrines. We, to the contrary, come from no organization of human origin. We don’t want or need other people’s money. We have no buildings to consume the tithes of the faithful. No pompous “leaders” and their staff demand our attention, service and obedience. No one confuses the members with personal opinions while exercising pretended authority over the Body. We do not put on plays and pageants characterized by flashy showmanship, mediocre music and bad doctrine. Because we are constantly striving to be true to God’s Word in all we do (and we examine ourselves biblically to make sure we have not gone off the rails), we carry no baggage; intellectual, theological, or doctrinal, that causes people to stumble. We are just families who have been taught by God through His Word and we are everywhere. The practical, common sense things we can do for people in need are far more valuable than a lot of memorized religious platitudes, especially where sharing the Gospel is concerned.

My fellow house church dispensationalists, as you can see, we have been given a tremendous advantage, but it’s not one to be used upon ourselves. It’s to serve others for the sake of the Gospel. Those “others” are folks out of those first two groups I mentioned above, and even the atheists too. Eventually, all the false gods fail and people look for someone to explain it; Someone not sporting the trappings and hypocrisy of religion; Christendom in particular.

Be that someone with me.

Westboro Baptist Church Came to Spokane

October 26, 2010

That’s right folks. Spokane and environs were "chastised" by several roving members of Fred Phelps’ sorry excuse for a church this past week. They crept in one evening, made a bit of noise and then left.

Westboto Baptist Protesting

Local media and some students in the area came out to flaunt their disapproval of Phelps’ crew, in the expected ways. The media subtlety berated them in their broadcasts and the homosexuals did, well, homosexual things in front of them. ‘Nuff said!

What struck me about the group was how much they were like your average political or religious group. I had intended to chase them down and "correct" their obviously confused theology and anti-biblical practices, but I talked myself out of it after the Lord caused me to see them for what they are: a group of lost souls clinging desperately to the things of this world, (1 John 2:15-16), because, that’s all they have.

The Lord took from my experiences with members from various "churches" in Christendom, and with various representatives of different political, social and educational philosophies that I am familiar with, and laid it all out for me. That convinced me that there would be nothing gained by talking with these people. Satan has so blinded their eyes to Truth, they wouldn’t recognize it if it slapped them across the face.

You remember this drawing from a few posts back:

I am amazed at how difficult it is for most people to comprehend that drawing. They stare at it and then deny what it is illustrating. So it is with Christendom. You can lead them to the truth in the Bible. You can explain how their traditions are not just against the Bible, but are actually replacing what the Bible teaches. You can warn them, from the Bible, of the dangers following a man exposes them to. You can even draw them a picture but, they refuse to see it.

Phelps & Crew seem to be under the impression that because they are not "fags", God doesn’t hate them. God hates Sin and they have just as fatal a case of Sin, as every other member of the Family of Man that has ever walked the face of the Earth! Changing your behavior is not the prescribed cure for this disease (Heb 11:6).

They also seem to believe that God is presently in the business of directly judging people for their sinful behavior. I, for one, am ever so thankful that He is not doing that: Thankful that I live in the Dispensation of Grace.

No, God didn’t blow up the shuttle. Sin did.

It is, I believe, our desire to be right concerning whatever our obsession is, that leads us into these groups and away from the Truth. Now, it is true that a lot of these groups, in their philosophies, contain some measure of Truth, they corrupt it with Mankind’s own made-up philosophies and traditions. Where the Church is concerned, it’s most easily seen in the ideas of a "church", organized from the top down, with an autocratic "leader" of one sort or another, sitting at the top, running the whole show and collecting all the cash! The theology of the Church being the "Bride of Christ" is yet another tradition that was invented in Man’s imagination, using bits of the Truth taken out of context, is another.

In the political realm, it’s Progressivism that causes so much trouble. Although, interestingly, had people listened to and believed what God had said about us in the Bible, there would be no "Progressives", as progressivism spins-off of Darwinism, from which comes the ignorant idea that white, Europeans are more highly evolved and are destined to rule over the world. If you follow that trail, you’ll quickly see how things would be so much better if we had only listened and believed God when He spoke to us.

So, I would say to the members of the Westboro Baptist Church, who are following after the teachings of Fred Phelps, stop and listen to what God has said. Read His words and turn away from the activity that misrepresents God and His position in this Dispensation of Grace. You’ve believed Phelps, who tossed the Scripture into a theological blender that he operates, who then dispenses the resulting lie to you as truth.

So, does God hate fags? Well, yes. He also hates straights. He hates Republicans and Democrats. He hates Muslims and Hindus too. White, black, red, yellow, brown (I think we are really all different shades of brown, but that’s a different subject), male, female, God hates anything and everything that is Sin. But, God loves the things He created even more than he hates them. He knows that we didn’t chose to be the way we are (Ps. 78:39). Because of the disobedience of one man (Romans 5:12), Adam, Sin entered into God’s creation and corrupted the whole thing.

Once you comprehend how repugnant Sin is to God, and that we all have it (Romans 3:23), you are then better able to appreciate His Grace which is extended to all Mankind, in all it’s fullness.

I’m Proud to be a Christian and the Jesus Followers

September 19, 2010

I saw it a few days ago. You see, my wife dabbles with Facebook a bit and one day, she was on it and I caught a posting that shocked me, just a bit.

Someone had started a thread, (I don’t know the Facebook terminology, so please bear with me), called “I’m Proud to be a Christian!” I thought to myself how that statement was diametrically opposed to what the Bible teaches on the subject. The more I thought about it, the more steamed I became. Who in their right mind is “proud” of being a Christian?

In the Bible, pride is described as yet another symptom of Mankind’s sinful condition.

Job 26:12 reads: “He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.”

Psalm 12:3 goes on to say: “The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things”,

Psalm 40:4 continues: “Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.”

Psalm 105:5 keeps the pressure on: “Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.”

Psalm 124:4 describes an attitude of proud people: “Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.”

Psalm 138:6 begs the question of Christian pride: “Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.”

Proverbs 6:17 mentions pride in the list of the six things God hates: “A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood …”

Proverbs 15:25 tells us that: “The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.”

Proverbs 16:5 reminds us that strength in numbers and unity will fail the proud: “Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord:though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.”

Proverbs 16:18 continues with warnings against pride. “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

Isaiah 2:12 teaches us that the Day of the Lord will humble the proud. “ For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon everyone that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:”

Now, I’ve not listed all the Scripture references to pride in the Word, but I hope that I’ve encouraged you, Dear Reader, to check your common wisdom with the Words of God before jumping on the professing church’s bandwagon of Christian pride. That’s an oxymoron if ever there was, or at least, it should be. You brought nothing to the Cross. You did nothing to please God. You did not earn your salvation. You have NOTHING to be proud about! Go back to the foot of that old rugged cross and sit there for awhile. Contemplate what the Cross is and what it means. Repent! Come back to God and His Word while you still can.

Now, let’s talk about these “Jesus Followers,” for a minute. The first time I saw someone calling themselves a Jesus Follower was on Twitter. My question to all of you is: “Are you so ashamed of your Savior that you don’t want to be referred to as “little Christs” anymore? Must I remind you that many people were Jesus Followers while our Lord was here on earth and, according to the Word of God, the vast majority were lost! They refused His mission. They had their own agendas. They were not “little Christs” in any sense whatsoever. Is that what you really want to be?

I do understand why some people claim to be “proud” of their Christianity and likewise, I understand why some true Christians might be tempted to shed the title. We must do neither. We are not of this world. Our seat of government (our conversation), exists now, (“is” being used in the present tense), in heaven, as Phil. 3:20 reminds us: “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:” For the most part, the assemblies of the professing church have corrupted themselves through their adoption of and integration with the world systems. They behave shamefully and conduct themselves anti-biblically.

Nevertheless, we must keep our eyes focused upon what God has directed us to focus upon. It was God who chose the word “Christian” to refer to those who belong to the Body of Christ. We have not the authority to alter or modify that choice. One of the great failures of modern Christianity is allowing itself to be conformed to whatever image the world chose for it. Instead of being separated, it became integrated. It’s not a little deal. It’s a bloody, big deal. In this day and age of persecution and spiritual deception, the last thing we need is to have people who claim to be our brethren, undermining the authority of the Word that God gave us, all because parts of it rub them the wrong way. Our responsibility is to read it and conform our lives to it, as God gives us the ability, as Phil. 2:13 teaches: “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Can’t you see; If you’re really His, you won’t want to follow after the world or your own depraved heart and mind. God will cause you to desire to follow Him, above all others, and give you all the strength you’ll need to follow Him also!

The God we worship and serve really has your best interest at heart. All you need to do to apprehend that knowledge and confidence is to open the book and read what God is saying to you.

The Never-Changing Political Landscape

September 3, 2010

Do you ever ask yourself why things in government and politics never seem to change? Well, I do, and I also look for the answers. Because I believe that, while government derives its authority to exist from God, the people who make-up government are, for the most part, slaves to Sin and Satan, and are incapable of separating good from evil and have resorted to compartmentalization to avoid insanity. This explains why politics is a bizarre world where nothing is as it seems. Consider the image I drew, below.

The Never-changing political landscape.

How do you like that graphic illustration? I wish I could say it was my idea, but I can’t. I first saw a drawing like this on the Glenn Beck program, on Fox News. It expressed, to a tee, the image I was seeing in my mind whenever politicians started making promises on the campaign trail, and then proceeding to break them all after the election.

As a sidebar here, now that I’ve discovered that I can use HTML in my blog, I can incorporate a lot of neat things I’ve only dreamed about in the past!

What brought this up was a recent article I read on by Floyd and Mary Beth Brown titled: "Ann, we won’t defend you this time."

They authors are upset because Ann Coulter is going to speak to a group of homosexuals and Sodomites who call themselves "GOProud." As they dug deeper into the issue, they discovered to their chagrin that this kind of corruption; this hypocrisy, runs deep and wide in the "conservative" political-social world.

Well, that should come as no surprise, folks. After all, most people in this world embrace their sin and glorify it! Of course, they don’t acknowledge it as "sin", they say it’s personal "freedom," or something akin to that, whatever the sin happens to be.

When we move away from the Word of God and substitute in its place the Wisdom, (read Ignorance), of Mankind, we expose ourselves to all manner of contradiction, hypocrisy, and evil in general.

If we simply took God at his Word, we would understand that this whole homosexual thing is simply another manifestation of Mankind’s sinful nature. God identifies it for us, because of the corrupt nature of our minds, in the Law of Moses and tells us to avoid it because of the consequences associated with pursuing this particular sin. The particulars of the manifestation aren’t important. It’s just something we should, with God’s help, avoid and resist.

How is that related to the government and corruption? Just look at Barney Frank! I mean, he’s a colossal pervert, if there ever was one; corrupt to the core, yet he’s always called upon by, Fox News, for example, when they want information about finance and/or real estate issues. Maybe that’s one of the reasons we can’t equate political conservatism and righteousness. It is the government, along with the public school system, trade unionists, and the homosexual lobby, who spend millions trying to convince us that evil is good, and good is evil. They tell us that Republicans are for business and they hate the poor, while the Democrats are all about the "working man" and against the "Corporation". As we can see by the chart above, both parties are on the side of the line that represents "Total Government Control". Whatever the government determines truth to be, is the truth for today.

This is starting to read a little like Orwell’s "1984", with the "Ministry of Truth" working overtime lying to the people of Oceania.

Is Ann Coulter becoming pro-homosexual? I doubt it. What she’s displaying, I think, is a tendency we all have to look for things we can agree upon, when dealing with people we don’t care all that much for, as opposed to looking for reasons to avoid them. It’s the popular thing to do these days. We try and compartmentalize different segments of our lives so we don’t have to deal with the ugliness (sin) we all have.

I entitled this post as "The Never-Changing Political Landscape" because, the more things change on the surface, the more they stay the same. That’s the nature of corruption. When steel becomes corrupt, we see corrosion (rust) on the surface, but we don’t always see the weakening of the metal beneath. Our government is going the way of all flesh, and soon, I believe, God will have had enough of it and the fools who populate its "hallowed" halls.

The Ground Zero Mosque and Other Noisome Issues

August 19, 2010

I can’t believe how much craziness has become associated with this mosque question. Liberals and conservatives can’t seem to get their tiny political brains around this issue. Not that any of them will ever read this, maybe someone will stumble across it and go check-out the history of the Mohammedans and how they behave in countries where they are strong because, that’s what is going to happen here if we can’t dispose of this political correctness nonsense,

All the uproar over a mosque that the Mohammedans want to build at Ground Zero in NYC could be dealt with if we in the West, including the pundits and talking heads, would first, dump this political correctness nonsense, and second, take the time to learn about the religion of the Mohammedans, called Islam, and its history.

Islam is not like the Baptists and the Pentecostals. It is not like the Catholics and Protestants. It is not like the Christians and the Jews. It doesn’t even worship the same deity. Islam is not “just” a religion. It is a religious, political and social authoritarian philosophy which, when fully implemented, encompasses, controls and dictates all aspects of life. It is my belief that when the Founders penned the First Amendment, they did not have Islam in mind.

Because Islam cannot stand with the Constitution. Islam must crush the Constitution. It cannot allow individual thought or choice concerning the worship of God, which is protected by the Constitution, or with the selection of the leaders of the country. With Islam, the concept of individual or inalienable rights does not exist. In lands where they are not strong, like the U.S.A., the Mohammedans are taught to be “moderate”: to blend into the culture and not cause an offense. That all changes, however, when Islam comes to power in a country. In Islamic countries, where they are strong, such as most Middle Eastern countries or Indonesia, thousands have been killed for straying away from Islam, among other things.

Consequently, I do not believe that the First Amendment applies to all religions and all religious practices. The Founders expected us to use our brains and common sense when confronting these issues. Sadly, we as a nation, have allowed the inmates to take over the asylum and govern with political correctness, which is just a synonym for hypocrisy. Our Constitution and nation should not be forced to submit itself to a religion, philosophy and people who would destroy it in obedience to the dictates of their false god. Nevertheless, should that happen, I would not be surprised. God’s judgment on this nation for it’s collective sins of legalized murder of the unborn and our embrace of homosexuality, just might come at the hands of the Mohammedans.

That being said, what does the presence of a mosque mean? First, a mosque is a Mohammedan place for religious worship, social activities and political education. In the past, the practice was established to erect them on the rubble of religious buildings in the lands they conquered. That is why there is a mosque on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. It’s an Islamic celebration and a proclamation of Islam’s pretended victory over YHWH. That is why they want to build one close to Ground Zero. It’s a celebration of their victory over the false god of the United States: Finance and Trade.

It’s all there to read in the Koran; in the later parts of the Koran that are are considered “better” than the earlier parts which proclaim peaceful Islam, that is. The Imams have an answer for everything.

As a sidebar, there was a Greek Orthodox church building destroyed in the 9/11 attack. They would like to rebuild but no one will so much as give them the time of day, let alone a place to rebuild. No one is bending over backwards to fund the project. No Mayor or President is speaking out in support of such an activity. Can you smell that? Is it liberal progressive hypocrisy? Yeah, that’s what I thought.

The question today is: Should a member of the One Body care if one is built near the Trade Center memorial site? Yes, but only to a point.

Christians should be compassionate towards those who are lost and hurting. 9/11 made for a lot of hurting people who are also lost (How many times did we hear the question: Why did a loving God allow this to happen?). Yet, we should not become entangled in worldly things. II Timothy 2:4 reads:
“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”
Would it “please him who hath chosen him”, not to respect the feelings of the survivors of the victims of the attack by ignoring the mosque question?

Personally, I don’t care about the thing because the mosque is going to burn. All the mosques will burn; Just as every professing Christian edifice ever built will also burn. II Peter 3:7 reads: “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” Perhaps that’s one reason Paul wrote II Timothy 2:4 above. Because Sin is part of Creation, Creation must be purged by fire and by fire it will be purged.

I believe that Christians should stand for healing the hearts and minds of those who were touched personally by the Islamic terrorist attack of 9/11. We should erect a hedge of prayer about them and try to answer their questions compassionately and Biblically. We should not step into the realm of emotionalism or political solutions; The former leads us to nonsensical explanations and latter does not exist because of political correctness.

Some may ask; What about the Mohammedans? Aren’t they lost, too? Yes, they are and it’s a shame, but, we also need to understand that Islam is like a quicksand: Once you get caught-up in it, it’s nearly impossible to dislodge oneself. You see, with the Mohammedans, changing your religion isn’t allowed. You could lose your head! Most people aren’t interested in that.

So, what can we do for them? Just pray for them. God has, in response to prayer and out of His Grace, raised up individuals who He empowers to minister the Gospel to the Mohammedans. Leave that work to them.

There’s another issue I’d like to talk about: Homosexual Marriage. It’s making a lot of noise down in the Land of Fruits and Nuts, otherwise known as California.

So what! It was not mankind who invented or defined marriage. The term can be changed. Let the Sodomites call it whatever they want. What difference does it make? Christians can call it something else. We can burn all our man-issued marriage certificates. It does not change the fact that God has decreed marriage is between one man and one woman, God has established the family as one man, one woman for life, with children. It is God to whom we are responsible, not other men. The edicts issued by the Sin-corrupted minds of man-made judges are none of our concern. We don’t have to play in waters muddied by perverts and pundits.

As for both of these issues, let’s just let those who are entangled in worldly affairs concern themselves with this stuff. We all have our opinions. You’ve read mine and really, they’re not worth much. So to heck with them. Besides, we all know plenty of people who do not want to suffer God’s judgment; People who are waiting to hear and receive the Gospel. They are waiting to be encouraged by us. Encouraged to hear from and believe what God has said. We need to spend our time learning to be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit so that when we encounter these people, we can encourage them with the Gospel, when they are ready to receive it, according to God’s timing.

May God bless you all.

May 21, 2011

July 31, 2010

Well, here we go again. It seems like it takes nearly a year for something to pop up that really attracts my attention and this time it’s another of those “TEOTWAWKI” (The End Of The World As We Know It) announcements. This isn’t your average Mayan calendar-based prediction though. This is the Rapture. It’s September, 1988 all over again. Same scenario. Similar error. Smaller booklet. Just different players this time.

I’ve tagged this under “Right Division” because, even though it’s something happening now, if people rightly divided the Word, things like this wouldn’t get any traction whatsoever.

Anyhow, I came across this wondrous announcement thanks to Twitter and the folks at who, although they are Calvinists, stick closer to the Word than most any of the organized belief systems out there.

It seems that Harold Camping is at it again, with a web site called: “”.

You can visit that site and read/download a little PDF brochure entitled “No Man Knows The Day Or The Hour”. As usual, we’re in the Great Tribulation, which, according to the pamphlet, began May 21st, 1988 and will last a total of 23-years. The pamphlet contains the usual alphabet soup of out-of-context Scripture verses, a hodgepodge of dates, Scripture citations and, sloppy arithmetic, all cleverly arranged with bold type and subject headings in such a way as to make one think they are reading what God actually said. The web site isn’t much better.

Well, you can go read it yourself, if you’re so inclined. My point is that, while God can do whatever He desires to do, whenever He desires to do it, I’m feeling pretty safe in declaring, here at this time and on this spot, that the Rapture will not take place on May 21, 2011; the Great Tribulation did not begin on May 21, 1988; and, God is not going to destroy this world on October 21, 2011. Furthermore, Harold Camping is a false prophet who will be judged and found wanting for making such outrageous statements.

How can I be so sure?

Because, God is not neurotic. When you read all the cited verses in context, not only do you find that the past and the future have been pureed in some great, spiritual Vita-Mix, the addresses have been changed, and you don’t get the same message when those verses are read in context. That is not at all unusual in this sort of thing.

God knew what He intended to say in His Word, and He knew which WORDS to use to get the message across, in spite of the corruption of languages over time and translation errors. He also addressed those words to specific people living in specific times. Those words had to made sense to those who received them, before they will even begin to make sense to us. That is, of course, assuming that we chose to HEAR (by reading) what God has said. Sadly, most seem to prefer to have their ears tickled by the Traditions of Men and the doctrines of demons than to receive God’s blessing of a sound mind through making His Word the central part of their innermost being.

Now Brothers and Sisters; What does God say about the Rapture and the Second Coming? More specifically, what does he say of these matters to the Church?

First, Col. 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Second, Phil. 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We thank God for preserving His Word in the original languages because, through the study of them, we know that Phil. 3:14 is better rendered: I press toward the mark for the prize of the calling on high by God in Christ Jesus. Being “called on high” , the original indicates an upward motion takes place. That is the Rapture message which is addressed to the Church.

Only that verse? Yup. Do I need any more? Since I’m not making a theological suit of doctrine out of dissimilar Scripture clippings, I’ll stick with clarity and simplicity, thank-you.

Read all of Colossians and Philippians for instruction in where to maintain our spiritual focus and to whom we should be listening. That’s why Paul was inspired to write those letters. They are for us. To help and encourage us. Our job is to glorify God through our lives and to relay the Gospel concerning salvation through the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is not to develop clever religious schemes seeking thereby to entice people through FUD, (fear, uncertainty and doubt), to throw money our way, so we don’t have to get a real job. People who do such things are not to be taken seriously. Listen to God!

David wrote in Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” If we do not remove the cover from the lamp of God’s Word and read it believing that we are reading His Words, how can it light our way and give us direction?

Church traditionalists dislike me because of some of my beliefs. Those beliefs however, only rub against their traditions, not God’s Word. Unfortunately, date-setting is all too common, even among those same traditionalists because they have never really heard from God. Oh they talk about God. They listen to sensual music that proclaims God is my girl/boy friend. They watch entertaining plays about God. They listen to “messages” about God, but they don’t ever take the time to actually remove the cover from the Lamp and let God speak to them, in His own words.

Don’t be fooled by the likes of Harold Camping. Go to the Source: Go to God.

I’m adding this little bit because I don’t want people to get the idea that I do not think the Rapture will soon happen. To the contrary, I do expect it to happen soon. I am looking forward to it and. in fact, I’m with Paul when he wrote: 2 Timothy 4:8 “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

When I was younger, I was guilty of a subtle belief that just believing something hard enough was sufficient to make it true. Furthermore, I believed that the more people who believed the thing, the better the chance of it happening would be.

That spiritually immature, pagan way of belief has infected most of Christendom since the last Apostle died. Today we recognize it as an element from Hinduism called Maya, where reality is shaped by strong belief. That path is a dead-end.

When I look around me at the world today, I see our blessed Republic being systematically dismantled by a man who pretends to be a Christian, that one is tempted to call The Antichrist (or at least, an antichrist). I see the natural world groaning more and more every year. I see, not only nations at war with nations, but individuals engaged in similar warfare. Natural and man-made disasters have become commonplace and the knowledge of God is drifting further and further away from the average man; Only to be replaced by traditions of men, doctrines of demons, lying political and technical solutions, and sciencism, just to name a few.

So yes, I am looking forward to the Rapture, but if it’s not something I’m going to see, the last thing I’m going to do is make-up some religious coat-of-many-dogmas to deceive and bilk people out of their money. My eyes are fixed on the place where my seat of government already exists, and I’m waiting for that calling from on high. That’s the main reason I don’t blog a lot. Heaven doesn’t have bloggers.

Local Paganism In Action

September 12, 2009

“And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.” II Kings 17:16

This morning, while checking my accumulation of “tweets”, I came across a little item in the electronic edition of Spokane’s Spokesman-Review newspaper entitled: “Peace pilgrimage – March to peace poles a reminder of tolerance”, by Virginia de Leon. You can read it at the following link if you want:

Now, I don’t begrudge anyone who desires to live in peace with everyone else. Scripture itself, instructs us to do just that. “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” Romans 12:28. Do not, however, be deceived. Although I’m sure they mean well, these pagan “pilgrimages”, public idolatry, demon worship, and trying to turn this community into a giant ashram grove, will serve to do nothing more than to insure God’s hand of Providential blessing remains far from this land. There will be no real, lasting peace, inner or otherwise, so long as mankind continues to reject the Prince of Peace. There are not “… many paths to God …”; There is only One Way mankind can come to God.

We don’t need to be reminded of our “diversity”, nor does it need to be celebrated. Diversity serves only to enforce a politically-correct racial and religious segregation. Mankind needs to accept the Truth: that God has said we are all the same: Sinful. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who can bring “… unity on a local [or any] level.” Once we understand that our “differences” are only superficial, we can step away from this pagan, politically-correct nonsense, hear and believe what God has said, come together in humility, as sinful Mankind, at the foot of the Cross, and find forgiveness and eternal life in resurrection through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Gautama Buddha is dead. Following his philosophy might make you feel better, for awhile, but you won’t be able to maintain it for long. Neither will it insure you a blessed resurrection to eternal life. The Lord Jesus Christ is alive! Through him, you will receive, not only a resurrection to eternal life, but strength for the day, each and every day. You have but to ask.

So, now for another part of this issue. Why, I ask, are some eight public schools, including Regal Elementary, all sporting pagan religious symbols? Does this mean that the government is endorsing this particular establishment of religion and funding it’s practice with tax dollars? When did we in Spokane vote to trash the Constitution and establish paganism, Buddhism, Hinduism, or Catholicism as the official religion of Spokane, Washington? Where is the ACLU on this? Why are they not filing lawsuits against Spokane School District 81? You can rest assured that they would not stand by while Christian or Jewish religious symbols were installed on public school property. Hypocrites!

Now, for you professors out there. Why are your voices so silent? Why do you not take the Good News of God’s answer to the problem of sin to the people in your own community? You’ll pick the pockets of your congregations so you can travel the world over, but you won’t so much as raise even a single finger over the plight of your own neighbors. Are you ashamed of it? Afraid that they’ll call you names? Do you not realize that there’s a terrible judgment ahead for everyone who follows after these pagan false prophets? What about you? Maybe it’s because you only “profess” faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Maybe it’s not real. Maybe you believed a “gospel” that can’t save. Maybe you’d better “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2Cor 13:5.

This is what the pagans have to look forward to. Don’t be part of it.

“And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” Rev. 18:1-5.

Get out of that building and talk to your neighbors. Tell them what God has said. Warn them of the judgment that is coming, and how they may escape it.
